I hope spring has sprung for you and yours. It’s been lovely here, and I’ve enjoyed getting out. To those of you who made it out to my most recent event at the Lancaster County Literary Arts Festival on April 13th, I so enjoyed our time together. I was especially delighted that the local library gave away one hundred copies of Lowcountry Boil prior to the event. Chatting with folks about all things Liz Talbot (and Hadley Cooper, of course) was a great way to take a break from writing, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support!
As I’ve shared in previous posts, I am still very focused on getting all the words on the page for The Sullivan’s Island Supper Club (forthcoming). This story has captured my imagination and has been so much fun to write, but I confess the words are coming slowly, in part due to the nature of this book, which will be told from multiple points of view rather than just one as all my previous books have been. It’s still not quite time to select a launch date. Fortunately, many of the behind-the-scenes things that go into publishing a book are really shaping up now too, and as these details continue to come together I get closer and closer to the finish line. Next month I will have both a cover and synopsis to share with y’all while you wait!
Exciting News! I am also working on launching a variety of items in addition to the books for my store. So many of you have reached out over the years and asked about art prints, coffee mugs, T-shirts and the like that I simply couldn’t ignore your requests any longer. (You may have seen the original Stella Maris T-shirts online–perhaps you even have one. We’re revamping these as a part of this project.) If you’ve ever wanted one, or perhaps a Liz Talbot tote bag, then be sure to watch this space in the weeks ahead for more information on fun new additions to my store!
Finally, an apology to my fellow cooking enthusiasts. Y’all may have heard me say I cook the way my mother and grandmother did–a little of this, a little of that…taste it…add more of this… et cetera. So, in order to share a new recipe, I have to make the dish and write down what I did. As my writing and launch preparations take up as much of my time as I can spare, I simply wasn’t able to test a recipe to feature this month. I’ll have a new one for you all very soon, and in the meantime, you can always find my collection of previously shared dishes right here on my website.
