The Best of Relief Journal
Volume I, Published December 2007
The Best of Relief Volume 1 collects the Editor’s Choice works from the first four issues of Relief: A Quarterly Christian Expression. You’ll also find select pieces from The Ankeny Briefcase, an anthology published in conjunction with the Burnside Writers Collective, and Coach’s Midnight Diner, our hardboiled genre anthology. At Relief, we feel that literature should be driven by reality rather than safety. With that vision in mind, we present: Literary Fiction by Michael Snyder, Susan Boyer, J. Brisbin, and Edmund de Chasca. Creative Nonfiction by Nancy J. Nordenson, Marilyn F. Moriarty, Deanna Hershiser, and Christopher Fisher. Poetry by Jill Bergkamp, Matthew E. Henry, Maureen Tolman Flannery, and C.A. Hasselbalch. Briefcase Fiction by David R. Long, Carlos Delgado, and Brad Fruhauff. Diner Fiction by Chris Mikesell, Kevin Lucia, and Robert N. Jennings. This is Christian writing — unbound!
My story is “Search and Rescue”. It first appeared in the Fall 2006 issue of Relief Journal.
