Hadley’s Brain Smoothie

Produce Ingredients:

  • 1 c. frozen or fresh kale
  • 1 c. frozen wild blueberries
  • 1/4 c. frozen mango
  • 1/4 c. frozen pineapple

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1  tsp. turmeric
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp. rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp. matcha green tea powder
  • 1 heaping tsp. Maca powder
  • 1 tsp. Amla powder
  • 1 tbsp. blueberry powder
  • 2 scoops of strawberry powder
  • 1 tbsp. cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp. chia
  • 1 tbsp. hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp. ground flax seeds
  • 2 tbsp. walnuts

Liquid Ingredients:

  • 1 c. unsweetened soy milk
  • 1-6 oz. water
  • Ice (if needed)
  • Date syrup (optional)

Directions:

  1. Measure out everything except the frozen ingredients and place in a small bowl.
  2. Put the kale and the soy milk in a Vitamix Blender or similar and blend for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the dry ingredients (ginger – walnuts) and blend for 30 seconds.
  4. Add frozen blueberries, mango, and pineapple and blend on 5 for 20 seconds, then turn the dial up to ten until the timer gets to 1:00 minute. Add a little water if the smoothie is too thick to make the “Vitamix vortex.” (The ingredients will be pulled down in a spiral and move around the blender freely.)
  5. If you like your smoothies a little sweeter, add a couple tablespoons of date syrup.
  6. Add ice if the smoothie is thinner than you like. (It will likely be very thick, but sometimes on warmer days, it gets thin.)
  7. Pour into 20 oz cup and serve with a smoothie straw.

Enjoy!
